She said that they were far too self-absorbed to be interested.
I suspect that her experience was replicated across most of the country but that won't be mentioned, of course.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3272054900018746845.post-49362653448970866512019-02-17T22:01:36.213+00:002019-02-17T22:01:36.213+00:00After the first half, I muted the party political ...After the first half, I muted the party political broadcast on behalf of The Guardian. And I'm glad I didn't have the misfortune to hear the grandiloquent spinning from Katie Razzall.
I heard a youngster on the BBC answering a question about why they are doing it, by saying that they hear on the news about warming and water levels rising. Ah, so the BBC promotion is working and is now being relayed back to them by the youth and Razzell can spin it into something of immense import.

Meanwhile no one is doing anything in the actual streets; around here anyway, the young continue to be ferried to and from school in ever more imposing Chelsea tractors, and back and forth between school and sports grounds in convoys of coaches; they gather in knots smoking drugs and dropping drinks containers and litter without a care; and a new growing source of pollution from people young and old is the habit of sitting in cars, vans and lorries for lengthy spells with their engine running while communing with their phones. And they never protest about that.
This day out of school was spread via facebook or wherever these online things happen, from an activist somewhere in Europe; it caught on and who wouldn't love a day out of school and feeling virtuous at the same time? Press attention a bonus.
