Samir Ahmed has been a leading advocate of no-platforming of populists such as Nigel Farage and has manipulated Newswatch to further that viewpoint (without explaining it's he viewpoint). That viewpoint is now it seems official BBC policy as being put forward by Rob Burley. Where a populist is allowed on - because they have to (Gerard Batten) - they are only invited on to confess to their crimes (rather as if we are living in some version of Mao's China circa 68). <br /><br />It's about time the fainthearts who take the BBC Shilling - people like Toby Young, Melanie Phillips, Peter Hitchens and so on (it's quite sad when you hear them speak so fondly of their BBC minders) - started speaking up in defence of free speech. BBC One with <i>EastEnders</i> and <i>Strictly</i> is the plebs channel, after all, and some of their viewers might <i>even</i> have voted for Brexit!<br /><br />Rightly or wrongly I have always got the impression that <i>Feedback</i> is subjected to organised lobbying whenever Climate Blasphemy occurs on Radio 4.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
