Everybody comes out of it badly - Israel, the military government in Egypt, the Americans, even Fatah - with one exception. Only those Hamas nice guys seem to have done nothing wrong.

When Jeremy Bowen says, "The editor of one of Israel’s leading papers told me that BDS was moving from the fringes to the centre of politics", he's using that as a cover because that's HIS OWN view, and he's stated it openly on Twitter back on April 25th:

@Jinjirrie sorry didn't get to this. BDS is going from the edge of the debate closer to the centreCraighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08741318067991857821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3272054900018746845.post-56993075442186490012014-05-07T12:27:30.521+01:002014-05-07T12:27:30.521+01:00You may wish to know about the following complaint... You may wish to know about the following complaint about Jeremy Bowen . It was about the ruling by the BBC against our assertion that Jeremy Bowen's report on "What the papers say " on Radio 4 31st 2006 was in fact an Anti semitic attack . It can be found at
http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/assets/files/pdf/appeals/govs/apps_nov06.pdf

What was interesting was the following.........

The BBC's Middle East Foreign Correspondent's harsh and angry tone mirrored the feelings that were behind the .extract from the Anti Semitic Lebanese Star newspaper.as he was reading it. It was clear from his tone of voice that he agreed with and wanted to endorse the statements he was reading out. .. He was reading an overlong extract out for a regular programme "What the Newspapers Say" on Radio 4. The BBC clearly understood the power and effect of the way the words were read out on air .When the appeal against this programme was eventually heard we were sent a recording of the programme. The recording they sent back had been re-recorded. His voice now did not reflect any of the emotion and aggression that had previously been displayed in his voice. The reading was now delivered in a bland and soft mannered way. This would made a huge difference to the way anyone would react to this extract.

And also ....... the fact that Denis McShane MP was also so disgusted with this broadcast that he took up my comments and wrote to support my complaint to the Director General of the BBC . I was told to keep the correspondence confidential but I can say that Mr McShane was most upset by the reply.

All the bestAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
