#thankyouHamas

#thankyouHamas  One man’s open prison is another man’s holiday destination.

This dual purpose party political video on behalf of Hamas doubles as a tourism promo.
Visitors might also enjoy a guided tour of a military tunnel.

Hmm. I wonder if we could arrange a transfer. Jeremy Corbyn would make a good leader for Hamas. It looks like the living conditions and the inequality gap have already been sorted, so they could hold a never-ending series of conversations amongst themselves. You know, for the peace process.

Meanwhile the BBC wants to know how you feel about volleyball in a hijab

  1. The Beeboids just want to get a sense of how Mark Easton-style social engineering is working, and if they need to up their game on normalizing fundamentalist Islam.

  2. David, they are working hard on normalising it.

Secunder Kermani on Newsnight tonight says only a "handful" of supporters of Tanveer Ahmed, the crazed Islamist who murdered the Ahmadi shopkeeper, were in court and that no one has openly supported him. But other news sources say there were 40 supporters in the court and they were chanting their support when he went down.

Elsewhere in the report the spokesperson for the Bradford Council of Mosques was respectfully allowed the last word in an interview saying faith communities had the right not to be offended. That thought was not critiqued by the reporter.

Of course part of the MO was to suggest all this was a "new phenomenon" and "puzzling" - it's amazing how often the BBC get "puzzled" when addressing things Islamic.

The reality is of course that there was a murderous campaign organised against Rushdie by British Islam - on the same subject, blasphemy - some 25 or more years ago. No doubt Newsnight were "puzzled" at the time.

And of course, there are the more subtle ways of normalisation...I noticed they are dramatising Conrad's novel The Secret Agent. Conrad I thought...well that's surprising - the BBC usually like to keep well clear of his (very unfashionable) themes. But of course, then I remembered the content of the book...it's about a mental defective gradually drawn into committing an act of terrorism!!! Of course, in this case it is European anarchic terrorism. Doubles all round as they say. :) BBC has hit the jackpot..."see - it's like we always said it's a mental health issue that crosses cultural boundaries"! :)

BTW - how much do you think I could get at Paddy Power's on the words "there have been XXX number of acts of Islamic terrorism since 9-11" ever being pronounced on the BBC?

    1. In 1989 when the fatwa was issued against Rushdie most of the liberal/left including the BBC were horrified. How different from today when the BBC kowtows to specific groups of professional offence takers more or less as a matter of policy. It is also sobering to note that, unbeknown to most people in this country, when book burnings where taking place in Bradford and the Satanic Verses was banned in Muslin counts around the world Mien Kampf was on sale in Muslim bookshops.
