The BBC pulls the plug on a man with a pug - Update

Charlie Peters, one of Mark Meechan/Count Dankula's fellow The Collective contributors, isn't happy that the BBC caved in to the righteous mob:

• So, it seems the BBC have dropped Count Dankula from the new show The Collective. I’m in an episode of the series, which will now sadly be shorter than expected.
• The BBC dropping Count Dankula mere hours after libellous accusations in a Sunday paper shows how susceptible broadcasting is to blind outrage. It is a gutless, censorious decision.
• A few days before filming, a producer called me to go over some topics that we’d be discussing on air. ‘How bad is cancel culture?’ was one. I guess they’ve answered their own question.
