Joan Rivers

Putting my outsized cigar aside for a couple of minutes, here are some classic lines from Joan Rivers:
My daughter and I are very close. We speak every single day and I call her every day and I say the same thing, “Pick up, I know you’re there.” And she says the same thing back, “How’d you get this new number?”
The whole Michael Jackson thing was my fault. I told him to date only twenty-eight-year-olds. Who knew he would find 20 of them?
Bo Derek turned down the role of Helen Keller because she couldn’t remember the lines.
And here's the BBC's attention-seeking Jon Donnison, tweeting about her today:

Obviously not his sort of kind of comedienne then. Her being so strongly pro-Israel probably didn't help.

  1. What race is Joan Rivers ‘ist’ about? Hamas? Palestinians? Jon Donnison must think of everything in terms of race. (Is the BBC a race?)

Think you`ll find your reason why the BBC hates Joan Rivers-her fine defence of Israel was probably her last public pronouncement, and the above shows her laying into the PC tripe on Libby Purvis show in 2005, and sending Darcus Howe into orbit with his grievance-hustling hypocrisies.
She takes him apart after 4.30...but it`s a great clip summing up the BBCs soft-pedalling on the awful...even evil... Howe.

    1. Great stuff: I remember hearing it first time around. Clearly, Donnison either didn't listen to - or didn't listen properly to - the clip, and merely relied on second-hand reports, which is probably a good analogy for BBC reporting in general.

As for Darcus Howe, what a totally unlikeable person. Has he ever had a real job, or at least one that didn't involve race-mongering?
