More red ink applied


Newsniffer reveals that there's been a striking stealth edit to a 15 June BBC online report about police racism in Canada. The report, by the BBC's Holly Honderich originally bore the headline:
This has now changed to:
The body of the report has seen the same change, with...
The report from Canada's largest municipal force confirmed longstanding concerns that people of colour are disproportionately targeted by police.
...becoming, 25 days later:
The report from Canada's largest municipal force confirmed longstanding concerns ethnic minorities are disproportionately targeted by police.

Somebody at the BBC seemingly felt the need to correct this linguistic slippage into American usage.
