I was reading a comment elsewhere that referred to a BBC Reality Check following the Texas shooting headlined US gun control claims fact-checked. It's one of those pieces where the facts 'checked' seem to fit with a particular point of view on the fact-checker's part. In other words, though it goes through the motions of 'BBC impartiality', it selectively 'checks' two Republicans and one Democrat, and the two Republicans come out of it much worse. Interestingly, the BBC ends with a correction - a 'reality check' on itself:
Correction 30 May: An earlier version of this piece stated there had been one mass shooting in the UK following Dunblane. There have been two, based on the definition widely used in the US of four or more deaths.
