He also interviewed a black man who suggested ( wondering aloud about) how many black men had been killed (implying wrongly killed) because women said they'd been raped by them, without Marr questioning whether he had evidence for suggesting that or what that evidence was. No sign of that false rage that Marr affects in interviews on occasion with others on matters bearing on black people. Potential smearing can pass if done by a black man to whom he must defer.
Apparently that very same interviewee told The Guardian, back in the early 1990s, “I seriously wanted to pick up a gun and shoot whites. The only way to resolve matters is by bloodshed.” That was on a visit to South Africa.
Interesting. I hadn't known who he was when I caught that interview. And South Africa, now constitutionally reformed, is a place where rape, including of children, is prevalent. Marr, paid to toe the line of a BBC which has a fit of the vapours over whether certain people can appear on its programmes, will cordially invite this man, politely ignore such racist past comments, meekly accept smears or allegations and tactfully avoid mention of the current state of South Africa and the epidemic of rape.
