Ain't no bud, bruv.

Craig’s take on the Marr / Netanyahu interview will be seen by many as worth twice my own by people who have effectively invalidated my take on such things by dint of the Rice-Davis formulation.

Therefore I bow to Craig in his conclusion that “No sane person could accuse the BBC of pro-Israel bias after this interview”, a conclusion that has been inadvertently reinforced by the Marr Show’s Twitter timeline. (Scroll right down into the abyss.)

It’s heartbreaking to me to see the depth and reach of the utter hatred of Israel expressed here. I know it’s only Twitter, but the ugliness therein is a searing stab to the heart.
The bulk of those venomous tweets are utterly moronic. Repetitious chanting rooted in the BBC’s (and other media’s) relentlessly one-side-of-the-story reporting, backed up by random references cherry picked from the UN’s and Amnesty International’s outrageous anti-Israel vendetta. (I see even Twitter’s acerbic wit, the BBC’s Rob Burley, defends one of Marr’s more dubious challenges by citing HRW and AI.)

Many haters argue that Netanyahu and other pro-Israeli spokespersons should be no-platformed by the BBC altogether. I wonder if the BDS advocates would be just as enthusiastic about boycotting the anti-terror intelligence that Israel is gracious enough to  share with Britain.

Now onto something entirely similar. (H/T EoZ)
The Daily Mail (again, anything published therein having been universally emasculated by dint of the Rice-Davies formulation) reported:
“Shocking dossier unveiled by Jewish Labour members reveals scale of anti-semitism claims inside the party amid drive to stamp out online abuse from activists”

A training session, which the Daily Mail calls “a ‘doomed’ attempt to nip the problem of antisemitism in the Labour Party in the bud” has been held by the Jewish Labour Movement.
“Slides from the event obtained by the Mail – which were not leaked by the JLM – show party members have had to be told anti-semitism means ‘making mendacious, dehumanising, demonising or stereotypical allegations against Jews as such or the power of Jews as a collective’.
Members were told this includes commenting on the ‘myth of a world Jewish conspiracy’, ‘Jews controlling the media’ or ‘holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel’.

(Emphasis added) Yes, sure; they had to be told. But telling isn’t the same as convincing, and it will take a lot more than a jolly good ‘telling’ to undo what the media has been building for years.

Now, back to the Elder of Ziyon piece because unlike the DM, that website has included the  “corresponding visuals”. They are not a pretty sight.
“Labour’s Jewish wing is holding the events that use a slide show of hate-filled messages posted on the internet by the party’s own activists.”

The depictions of the ‘universal Jew’ in those cartoons appear to be by the same hand - a prolific ‘one-trick-pony‘ of an artist who provides the perfect visual depiction of the very things that the Labour Party antisemites apparently need to have explained to them. (‘making mendacious, dehumanising, demonising or stereotypical allegations against Jews as such or the power of Jews as a collective’. Of a world Jewish conspiracy’, ‘Jews controlling the media’ or ‘holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel’.)

As the Daily Mail opines, this attempt to nip the problem in the bud looks decidedly doomed. That ain’t no bud, bruv.

Now, back to Marr. I noticed that none of the anti-Netanyahu Tweeters had anything to say about Lebanon. Too dumb to even know, I assume, let alone opine on such a significant issue.

Maybe the whole interview needs transcribing and analysing. Maybe Melanie Phillips will lament at the gulf between Israel’s understanding, nay lack of comprehension of the sheer scale of the UK’s negativity towards Israel  and the reality of that negativity, nay, hostility towards Israel.

Maybe the BBC needs to give more of a platform to the pro-Israel point of view to counteract years of relentlessly one-sided reporting, and maybe the BBC should be less tolerant of the intolerant for a change.

As I said, too late to just 'nip'. This problem ain’t no bud, bruv.

There are cruel and nasty people and the Internet is the perfect amplifier for their 'thoughts'.
