With the BBC leading the charge, news is preceded by sentiment. The recent 'clap at eight' receives huge publicity from the BBC as they show clips of like-minded sentimentalists pushing a truth as defined purely by sentiment. We must all acknowledge that NHS workers are angels and heroes. Ditto support for XR. Sentimental images of whales, dolphins, otters, badgers (for heaven's sake) are presented as 'the truth' about destruction of habitat.
Ditto LGBT issues, immigration issues etc etc.
