"Enabling/normalising" Nigel

Samira Ahmed is not happy again, this time about Radio 4's Broadcasting House. BBC producer Luke Jones (who works on BH) doesn't agree with her:

  1. Isn't Samira Ahmed becoming like a dreadfully opinionated old Aunt who spoils everyone's Christmas (sorry - "Festival of Non-Racist Implementation of Refugee Rights to Higher Standard Accommodation") with her comments on children's clothes, the amount people have had to drink and the quality of the presents she's received? Even the lefty-liberal editors must be annoyed at being told how to do their own biasing - "We can bias the news just as well as you Auntie!Times have moved on!!"

  2. I was watching Chanel 4's "It was alright in the '70s" last night. Samira Ahmed was on asa commenter. a genuinely miserable person looking for something to complain about

  4. This is Ahmed openly supporting the position that Farage's ideas are bad. She wouldn't see getting complaints about enabling or normalizing him as valid otherwise. Good for Luke Jones for understanding that. I wonder which one of them will face a reprimand over this.

  5. I wonder what Ahmed's stance is on reporting of refugees driving trucks into crowded markets within the EU. Surely that must enable and normalise views opposed to the EU, free movement and open borders? Would she want to see such reports contextualised with perhaps perorations by Benedict Cumberbatch and sweary denunciations by Bob Geldof?
