Will Gompertz gets his claws out

Oh dear. The makers of the new film of Cats will be most disappointed that the BBC's Arts Editor Will Gompertz only gives it 2 stars. It's not as good as the original, says Will. Still they can console themselves that BBC Will's PC antennae aren't quivering uncontrollably over it:
That the cats are still gendered and sexualised is not such a big deal.
Phew, we can all breathe easily again then.

  1. If it was a pile of bricks identifying as cats with a reimagined woke storyline by a female director I’m sure Will would have awarded it five stars.

  2. If Will G doesn't like the film, it probably means that everyone else will. Taylor Swift playing Bombalurina will doubtless appeal to her many fans.

  3. I think another major star is a gay guy from America who hasn't come out of the closet...that's probably enough to condemn it for Oor Wullie.

  4. Mail online gives the film 4/5 stars.

'Cats is downright demented... but somehow it works!' BRIAN VINER reviews 'bizarre' new Taylor Swift movie interpretation of the popular stage musical.

Is this a populist movie that therefore the BBC must despise?
