...and any other matters that take our fancy
I didn't see it (and won't!) but your picture shows James O'Brien. If he fronts Newsnight, it is finished. He truly is awful. Sometimes I listen to him on LBC just for a laugh.
Ian Katz on twitter currently drumming up a viewer for their 'special' tonight. Not going too well.
From that wonderful editor who brought you ‘Operation Clarke County’
What the BBC and QT producers seem to ignore is that this relentless one-sided debate over: first the EU Referendum, and now the US Presidential Elections makes for appallingly bad and boring TV viewing. It simply doesn't stretch the mind. Why do they feel the need to fill hour after hour in this way. Does the climb up the BBC career development ladder depend upon how obnoxious, narrow-minded and impervious to criticism you can be - just so long as all others in your microcosmic working environment share your myopic view of Brexit and Trump?
They believe they are setting the agenda and directing public discourse. They will summarily dismiss the intellect and character of anyone who thinks it's boring.
The BBC is behaving like a spoilt child who is used to having his own way & has suddenly encountered the word 'NO'! Douglas Carswell wondered out loud (yesterday or the day before) whether the Beeb will be campaigning for a re-run of the US Presidential election, as it has in the case of the EU Referendum. It all smacks of desperation - suddenly the serfs are no longer thinking & doing what the BBC wishes them to! It is a hoot though, to see these self-appointed, bourgeois champions of the people beginning to use the words 'working class' as a term of abuse - good grief, they'll be calling them 'plebs' next!
Rod Liddle has answered their call, if not quite as they may have wished.
How about the two war seeking witches the night before? One was Mary Kaldor, Professor of Global Governance from the LSE, can't remember the other.http://www.securityintransition.org/team/mary-kaldor/
I've long rated Mark Littlewood highly. This confirms my opinion once more. He provides a great little series of snapshots here.
JOB sarky voice "Oh we are an endangered species cos we are the MSM"show a bit more respect mate the prog only narrowly escaped being abolished cos of the scandals where it called Savile and McAlpine the wrong way ..Letting down the victims ..and a minor point of pissing away a large amount of licence payers money in legal and compensations costs.(BTW Tonights edition was even worde than described)* Friday the scheduled 10:30pm edition failed to materialise..and the extended edition on Wednesday night ended 10 mins early (ran out of material ?)
