Last night's BBC News at Ten caused a little alarm with its errant geography, what with Bristol and Birmingham moving into Wales and Manchester into the Irish Sea. But I for one am pleased to see Newcastle move to where Carlisle used to be as getting to Newcastle usually involves a tediously long journey from where I live but now is a mere hop, skip and a jump up the west coast mainline or the M6.
