Which senior BBC journalist lied to the BBC that she spoke Spanish?

Answer: Katya Adler

Here are three extracts from today's Sunday Times interview with the BBC's Europe Editor Katya Adler:

  1. I think she is very good at her job as the EU Press Spokeperson and Media Representative. I have never heard her utter a single word of criticism about the EU's negotiating stance - even though it has ended in complete failure and helped destabilise what is after all a key European nation. I have heard her make loads of negative statements about the UK negotiating stance at various junctures.

Only at the BBC could you be confident about stating that you put lies about your knowledge and experience in your CV and expect to get away with it.

  2. Well why not start as you intend to go on?

  3. Charles Wheeler Award - he was the famous (because on the BBC) BBC correspondent from Washington and a leftwinger - what a surprise!
