Like it or loathe it, what a difference a majority makes https://t.co/twgAzKDEu5— Laura Kuenssberg (@bbclaurak) January 9, 2020
Well, I guess what Laura K was thinking when she began her tweet like that, but isn't this a fair point?:
Flamenco Fan: Gentle nudge to BBC Laura K. Ditch the phrase ‘like it or loathe it’. The majority of constituencies voted for the Conservatives this time round so keep neutral - ‘What a difference a majority makes’ would have been sufficient.
For Politics Live on Wednesday, the first PMQs of 2020, Laura wore black.
ReplyDeleteps. She spoke in hushed tones - I think she's in mourning.
DeleteI’m not so sure. She is not a fan of Johnson but I think she leans to the right. She works hard to hide it by using phrases such as the one illustrated by Craig. Sometimes the blue shows through and is spotted which is when the left attack her via Twitter.
DeleteIf you're right Charlie, then she does indeed work hard to hide it. Remember the way she spits out the word 'Toree' through clenched teeth. Rarely does she use the words 'Conservative Government'. I think attacks upon her from the far-left are because they haven't been able to manipulate her fully to their extreme point of view by the undoubtedly real personal threats she receives. That doesn't make her 'right wing' by any means.
DeleteThat link posted above is to an online article that doesn't have the 'like it or loathe it' phrase before the 'what a difference...'.
ReplyDeleteYes, all trace of the original wording has been removed. This is a common ploy before archiving a story.
DeleteIt could just have been on the tweet - an afterthought, as it were, from Laura K.
