Twitter ye not!

According to The Sunday Telegraph's Christopher Hope, "several" BBC executives have told the paper that "the BBC's top journalists" are to be "summoned" and "given advice" about their use of social media platforms like Twitter. They will be "urged" to rein in their tweeting about politics. The paper mentions Huw Edwards, John Simpson and Emily Maitlis by name.

One "senior BBC executive" is quoted saying:
Too many people within the BBC use it as their own vanity project to get their own views out... It becomes an echo chamber that attracts more and more anger. We have talked about looking at that.

  1. Good to know this site was one of the first to identify the true extent of political bias being shown by senior BBC staff on Twitter - the likes of: Sweeney (now ex BBC), Sandford, Casciani, Easton, Maitlis and all the many others.
