Two points of view

To all of those who were aghast at American 'liberal' Adam Gopnik's pre-US election A Point of Viewwhere BBC impartiality appears to fly out of the window (like a TV after a particularly annoying episode of Question Time), Radio 4 'balanced' it this week with a Roger Scruton A Point of View that was a good deal less hysterical and much more understanding of Trump voters.

Not that Professor Scruton is keen on Donald Trump either. After Adam Gopnik ended last week's programme by saying that "a modern apocalypse will be upon us" if Trump wins the election, this week's edition ended with Roger Scruton saying that Donald Trump is someone "who doesn't yet know what civilisation means".
