Are we very, very lucky to have James O'Brien?

In the wake of the US's killing of General Soleimani, LBC's James O'Brien issued this effusive tweet in praise of the BBC:
Probably a good moment to remind ourselves that with journalists like John Simpson, Jeremy Bowen and Lise Doucet, we are very, very lucky to have the BBC.
(Yes, he spelt Lyse's name wrong).

You won't be surprised to learn that Jeremy Bowen and John Simpson both put their retweet functions to good use. They do like being praised.

Even if JO'B had copied in Lyse Doucet, I doubt she'd have retweeted it. She doesn't seem the type.

  1. Maybe JO'B fancies his chances of being rehired by the BBC to take part in their final Götterdämmerung scenes before the TV licence fee is finally abolished.

Or maybe he's pitched an "independent documentary" idea to the BBC about how wonderful the BBC is.
