Editing out the IRA

  1. Why did they do that? Perhaps a real bad man gave someone a real threat?

    1. You could be right, John. Such people aren't exactly known for being shy about issuing threats - even in the veiled form of a complaint.

Something made the BBC ditch that bit. Like you, my bet is a complaint from someone who didn't want the IRA associated with such a story. (A Sinn Fein supporter?)

    2. Given the BBC's support for Sinn Fein/IRA, I am surprised it was put there in the first place. Probably a mistake by some teenage intern.
