Here's something I didn't know until today. According to a 2010 BBC survey, Cilla Black (1943-2015) was the highest selling female artist in the UK during the 1960s (in part thanks to Anyone Who Had a Heart).
According to that same survey, her fellow Liverpudlian Ken Dodd was second only to the Beatles in sales.
Something of a decade for Liverpool, the 1960s.
And she was a supporter of Mrs Thatcher as I recall.
ReplyDeleteBoy I used to note them all-and hate them accordingly.
Boy, was I wrong-so find myself sucking up to whatever Steve Davis or Tarby tell me these days.
God Bless you Cilla
