Kirsty Wark on last night's Newsnight:
Good evening. As we come on air it is certain that migrants are desperately trying to hitch themselves to transport at Calais heading for the UK, and some of them will be children. Lorry drivers will be camped out in their cabins with nowhere to go and rotting cargo. And the authorities will be too stretched to deal with all this. In this scenario, it's hard to see who wins. But it's also hard to imagine that today's promise by the Prime Minister of more fencing and some extra sniffer dogs to keep what he now infamously called 'the swarm' out is going to solve this huge human problem. Is that an unbiased use of language?
