A joke

It's hot and humid up here tonight. The blackbirds are taking their feathers off and skinny dipping.

But however uncomfortable it may be for us here in the over-heated North West, it still can't be anywhere near as uncomfortable as it's been for Sir Tim Hunt this week.

His comments about lady scientists have been deemed sexist by some; indeed so wicked as to force his resignation (age and Nobel Prize notwithstanding).

And the controversy has been plastered all over the BBC for days (and led by them at times).

To cheer Sir Tim up, here's a joke:
I stopped at a scientist's house the other day and found him stalking around with a fly-swatter.
When I asked if he was getting any flies, he answered: 'Yes, three males and two females.'
Curious, I asked how he could tell the difference.
He said: 'Three were on a beer can and two were on the phone.'
